Hackers can lock your account with a WhatsApp scam by getting access after sending a message to the victim seeking a 6-digit number.
“Hello, sorry, I sent you a 6-digit code by mistake, would you please transmit it to me?” a message apparently from a friend says to people who fell for the scam. Is it critical?”
Because it is the two-factor authentication code, WhatsApp users are warned not to submit the code or click the connection with the cybercriminals’ message.
If the victims provide the hackers with the code, they will have access to their WhatsApp account and contact list, potentially locking the account.
