A Chinese appliance manufacturer, TCL, plans to release the world’s first foldable and rollable smartphone soon.
Fold n Roll is a new smartphone that operates as a single unit rather than two separate devices with two different display modes.
According to international media reports, the smartphone is currently a prototype or concept design that TCL will take some time to market. However, the company aims to launch the first device with a flexible screen by year-end.
The device, equipped with next-generation hinges and mechanics to support the action, will be released later this year.
“Under normal settings, the prototype features a 6.87″ panel that can be enlarged to 8.85” GSMARENA claimed that “the rollable mechanism expands that to ten inches.”
